NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) participates in the SkillsUSA’s TeamWorks competition to help promote workforce development.  Each year, a team of four students – a mason, a carpenter, an electrician and a plumber – complete a project such as a small bathroom or laundry room, building it from the ground up.  Not only are the teams judged on their craftsmanship, but also their ability to pre-plan and present their idea to the judges.  To get to the National TeamWorks competition, participants must first win at their local, state and regional competitions.
This year, the competition was held in Kansas City, Missouri, where 42 teams competed in a two and a half day period.  The team from Frederick Frederick County Career & Technical Center placed second amongst the competition and we couldn’t be more excited.  Our Vice President, Darren Andrews, helped mentor this team.  To see some pictures of the team in action, see our Facebook page:
